Caesar at The Kennedy Center

Caesar's voice exemplifies exceptional artistry—a rich baritone characterized by its smooth flow that captivates listeners with each note. His delivery is renowned, evoking comparisons to the esteemed Nat "King" Cole. CBS News Radio said, “That's Caesar whose singing brings back Nat King Cole." The Screen Actors Guild enthused, “Caesars' smooth velvet voice has often been compared to Nat King Cole's, but he has his interpretation and style that compares to no one but is essentially and superbly…Caesar.”

In August 2021, Caesar was diagnosed with cancer and faced the possibility of losing his voice and hearing due to 36 radiation treatments and five cycles of chemotherapy. He was hospitalized for each chemotherapy infusion after an allergic reaction during his first infusion. Despite facing significant challenges, Caesar remained optimistic and committed to his music. He requested Dr. Clark to ensure he would be ready for a performance on February 24th. Remarkably, he headlined with the American Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center on February 24, 2022—just 28 days after completing his treatment. He remarked, “God has blessed me to continue sharing my story and my gift with the world while promoting cancer awareness. Music has healing powers.”

Caesar, a native of Chicago, is an alumnus of Southern University, where he honed his exceptional vocal abilities. He has had the distinction of touring internationally with Julio Iglesias, becoming the first and only male vocalist to collaborate with the global icon, who has sold over 300 million records prior to the advent of the internet. Caesar's repertoire encompasses jazz standards and romantic ballads, performed in five different languages. His performances are frequently enhanced by the accompaniment of big bands, orchestras, or minimalistic instrumentation featuring acoustic guitar or piano, taking place at performing arts theaters across the nation.

One of Caesar's notable recordings is "Jazz Standards for Today’s Audience," later retitled "Caesar Sings Nat King Cole," which he recorded at Capitol Studios. He used the same microphone and Steinway piano that Cole used in the 1950s, and 23-time Grammy-winning legend Al Schmitt engineered the album. The album is a sublime showcase for Caesar's suave, inviting, and majestic voice. Caesar has recorded on three albums with Peter White. “Good Day” went to #3 on the Billboard Charts featuring Boney James,  Paul Brown, Jeffery Osborne, & Jonathan Butler.

Caesar has performed, shared the stage with Herbie Hancock, Al Jarreau, Stanley Clarke, George Duke, Lou Rawls, Deborah Cox, Ronnie Laws, James Ingram, Phil Perry, Gerald Albright, Lalah Hathaway, Marion Meadows, Mindi Abair, Parliament Funkadelic featuring George Clinton, After 7, Lakeside, The Ohio Players, Tony Terry, Damon Wayans, Martin Lawrence, and Tommy Davidson, Thomas Miles and Steve Harvey just to name a few.

Caesar is a gifted performer with a remarkable talent for interpreting and delivering classic jazz standards and love ballads. His unique style and interpretation set him apart from other artists, and he continues to inspire and entertain audiences around the world.
